Uncommon Ancestries

in 5e Player's Handbook

This section contains the more unique playable species of Cantara. When playing a character who is one of these ancestries, you come from a society that commoners aren't acustomed to or may not have even heard of.

Dragonborn

The imposing dragonborn hail from the distant deserts of Ansai and often come to Cantara seeking adventure and new beginnings.

Tunnel Dwarf (Duergar)

The duergar are subterranean folk evolved from dwarves who long ago tunneled deeper and deeper and never resurfaced.

Eladrin

The appearance of these native elves of the feywild resembles the seasons, and can change with their environment or with their temperment.

Bugbear

These hulking goblins are indeed vicious, but they are also startlingly nimble and stealthy.

Goblin

These diminuitive, misunderstood creatures form tribes in the smallest cracks, and are often driven to violence more out of necessity than desire.

Hobgoblin

These larger goblinoids are fiercely loyal and protective of eachother and especially their smaller kin.

Goliath

These small giants live in the soaring, inhospitable peaks of the Giant's Ridge in tight clans where those who can't hack it are left behind.

Beladiri Human

The often spurned Beladiri Clans are a warlike people who have a rich culture of turning to the spirits of their ancestors for guidance and comfort.

Tokinan Human

The proud and reclusive natives of Tokina are happy to let the rest of the world pass them by as they strive for self-perfection.

Tabaxi

The ever-curious, ever-wandering catfolk venture far and wide from their secluded tribes trading, spinning stories, and seeking discoveries.

Tiefling

When a child has been touched by the abyss, they are often born with tails, horns, and strangely colored skin.
