The Ebon Blade

The Ebon blade is a black longsword, engraved with subtle runes along its blade and hilt. It is very unassuming in appearance, but vast in its power.

The Ebon blade is a Vampiric blade that has killed many and grown exceptionally powerful.

• Merely holding the blade grants the wielder enhanced strength and speed.
• The Blade slowly heals its wielder, healing even the most grievous of wounds.
• Enemies in proximity of the wielder are slowly drained of their life-force.
• Wounds inflicted by the blade are egregiously difficult to heal.

If the Ebon blade isnt regularly used to kill things it will slowly drain the lifeforce of its wielder. It also has a history of inspiring megalomania and psychopathy in its wielders, so its wielders will have to be careful about the direction of their thoughts.

History

The Ebon blade is an ancient weapon of unknown origins. Its first recorded appearance is during the Necromancer Crisis, but it is much older. It was used by the skull knight, formerly Gabriel Angelos, general of Ketior Fulgur's undead armies.
After the necromancer crisis concluded, the sword was sealed within the tomb of Enoch's rest by the Raven Knights. However the tomb was defiled by graverobbers and the Ebon blade is now loose on Haven once again.
