Nightsong Reavers
Current Status
The Nightsong Reavers remain a sizable kaldorei-led fleet operating along the northwestern coast of Kalimdor. They are commanded solely by Nadialyn Sunthorn, the last surviving member of their former council after the Black Crusade slaughtered their leadership during the first invasion of Hithanizor. Recently, the Reavers suffered further losses when the Blacktooth Ravagers launched a devastating attack—presumed retaliation after the execution of the Ravagers’ leader in Stormwind. With vessels scattered too thin and leadership strained, the Reavers were vulnerable when the Undertide struck several of their smaller coastal camps, including one near Feathermoon Isle. However, their fortunes have begun to shift. After sending a raven requesting aid, the Reavers were assisted by Blackwater forces, who cleared out the Undertide presence and rescued a tortured Reaver officer. Additional prisoners—many Reavers captured for sacrifice to the Abyss—were freed during the Blackwater Company’s rescue of Amoira from the Obsidian Falcon. Through these acts, relations have greatly improved. Lily and Sorna met personally with Saris Seasword, a high-ranking officer among the Reavers, leaving a strong impression and solidifying a renewed bond. The two swore kinship in the Reavers’ war and pledged support should peace with the Blacktooth Ravagers remain impossible. The Nightsong Reavers are once again friendly toward the Blackwater Company, now treating them as honored allies rather than distant partners bound only by past necessity.History
The Nightsong Reavers originated as a disciplined kaldorei naval order turned pirate fleet, forged in the chaotic years following the Fourth War. Their crews—predominantly kaldorei mariners, scouts, and former Sentinels—earned a reputation for near-supernatural instincts at sea. Silent as the forest and swift as moonlit surf, the Reavers patrolled the broken coasts of Kalimdor’s northwest, striking enemies from the shadows and vanishing back into the mists. Their early years were defined by stability under a ruling council, until the Black Crusade launched a brutal assault on Hithanizor. The attack annihilated the council, leaving Nadialyn Sunthorn as the sole surviving leader. Despite the loss, she rallied the Reavers, maintaining their claim over the northern waters—but at great cost. Their defenses fractured further when the Blacktooth Ravagers attacked in the aftermath of Stormwind’s execution of the Ravagers’ chieftain. The Reavers were stretched thin, their ships forced to patrol alone or in pairs, leaving pockets of territory exposed. This vulnerability was exploited by the Undertide, an abyssal cult operating throughout the western seas. They struck a Reaver outpost near Feathermoon Isle, capturing officers and torturing them for information. In desperation, the Reavers sent a raven to the Blackwater Company. Blackwater intervened, clearing the Undertide from the camp and saving a severely interrogated Reaver scout. Shortly afterward, during the rescue of Amoira from the Obsidian Falcon, Blackwater crews discovered several imprisoned Reavers—intended sacrifices for the Undertide’s worship of the Abyss. Their liberation struck a major blow against the cult and prevented a grim fate for some of the Reavers’ most skilled sailors. In the wake of these events, Lily and Sorna met with Saris Seasword, one of the Reavers’ ranking captains. Their diplomacy renewed trust between the fleets. The two pledged that if peace with the Blacktooth Ravagers could not be achieved, Blackwater would stand with the Reavers in open war. Their oath, combined with the rescue operations, has ushered in a new era of kinship. Today the Nightsong Reavers remain a respected—if battle-worn—force, their legend reclaimed through hardship, alliance, and renewed strength from unexpected friends.Diplomacy
