Urmany (er-men-E)

Urmany is a highly militarized kingdom that grew from forcing independent cities to become their territory. The country is governed by five representatives, one from each of the four original cities and one person representing the entirety of the nation. They meet in the kingdom's capital, a metropolis between the four cities.  

History

Creation

In 43 A.G., Edward Suerius united the four cities: Flussestadt, Ebenenstadt, Bergstadt, and Waldstadt. He became the first king of Urmany as the people of Bergstadt took land from settlements close to them. This annexation lasted until The Broken Coast formed their united military and hung a possible war over Urmany's head. Urmany agreed to stop taking land as long as Urmany had access to all trade routes on the coast. They agreed but stated that only Urman Merchants may enter the coast's borders.  

Death of a Bloodline

In the year 99, Edward's son Alexander was in power for the past 42 years but fell terribly ill and died the same year. His advisors elected the current general: Peter Obenslauter to take his position. It was later discovered that this was completely orchestrated by Obenslauter who had cultists belonging to Fate's End sneak their way into the advisor's positions and slowly poison the King until they could elect Obenslauter for his position.  

War of the West

Obenslauter's son (Isac Arno Obenslauter) eventually caught wind of this promotion and went to investigate. His father told him that he was elected as King fairly and that he had a way of bringing back his *mother from death. Isac followed his father's instructions and obtained a magical artifact called the Pheonix Eye. The King had only partially lied to his son, he brought back Isac's mother but she was under complete control of the King. He then went on to kill and revive the rest of Urmany to have the entire nation under his control. Isac escaped and untied the Kingdoms of Great Eethill to defeat them. Isac reclaimed his homeland and was elected as the next in line as King.  

Government

Urmany has a single king and multiple advisors to help run the country. The King is selected through blood while the advisors are handpicked from noble bloodlines in the core cities of Urmany. Other advisors are Great Generals from their military. If for whatever reason there is no King, the advisors will run the country until they can come up with a unanimous decision on who the next in line should be.  

Laws

Because of its high military presence, law enforcement is not a concern to Urmany's government. In the core cities minor crimes mostly go unnoticed by guards, but when it comes to insulting government officials (even of lower status) is a one-way ticket to some jail time or worse. Only those who've lived in Urmany for their entire lives know what to do to keep out of trouble with the law.  

Magic and Technology

It's illegal to practice magic out in the open and to use magic without the permission of the government. As for technology, Urmany has the advancement of any other place in Eethill but has made many developments when it comes to military and siege technology.  

Military

Urmany is extremely centered around its military and is known for its victories in many battles. Recruitment is optional in times of peace but forced upon many people during wartime.  

Tiger Tanks

A previous ally to Urmany was the native Weretiger Barbarian tribes who peacefully gave their land to Urmany, and even helped them expand during their initial annexing. Their tough builds allowed them to take many blows without getting killed, making them excellent frontline troops.
