The Kraken Cliffs
The cliffs stand tall, looming over the trade routes of merchants from across Great Eethill and beyond. The city of Seaview sits on its stone throne commanding hundreds of ships to protect not only itself but its allied kingdoms of the coast.
Remains of the Requian Empire
When the Requian Empire fell its heir Leigh II was gifted the cliffs and the empire's previous capital of Seaview as homage and as sympathy for the death of his family during the Second Attack. The remains of the empire are threatened again when Leigh II was assassinated on the 3rd of Mid-Winter 138 A.G., leaving his wife and child in hiding. The throne of the cliffs has been temporarily given to Crynline Castaway, a high priestess of Sea's Appeal. The Requian Navy
Formed in 81 A.G. to combat pirates, the Requian Navy is known to be the greatest nautical military in the mortal realm holding over three hundred vessels across the coast's six kingdoms. The Navy is under the control of the King of the Cliffs who typically appoints Fleet Commanders to be the strategists behind their plans. Fleet Commanders, Captains, and Officers are all issued the Navy's signature weapon: the Requian Wave Blade. The Wave Blade was made to disarm pirates with its rounded zig-zag pattern at its edge. Since the end of the Golden Age of Piracy, the Navy was "disbanded" and became city guards of the coast's capitals until the War of Eethill where they reunited. The Navy was planned to disband twice since then, but neither came through as events such as the Angelic Invasion, the Second Kraken Attack, and now the Syndicate War have called for their need.Points of Interest
Seaview
The Merchant's City of Seaview is the oldest living city on the coast, with over 20,000 people. Seaview's heavily protected location in Kraken's Cove has made it the perfect meeting place for traders from opposite ends of Great Eethill. This attraction of merchants had given Seaview its nickname and enough growth to create trade routes to nearly every nation in Great Eethill and a few outside of the continent.Icemouth
Because of the clashing of climates between the cliffs and the Snowy Plateau, chunks of ice would commonly break off and fall down rivers that run through the cliffs. Icemouth is placed at the end of a river where the ice blocks that fall down are no longer a threat to ships or people attempting to cross the river but are big enough for them to be used for cooling, ice drinks, and other luxuries resulting in becoming the Barren's first ever beach resort.Griffin
At the border of the Coral Forest where the trees have yet to be corrupted by their blood pools is the town of Griffin. The smallest of the three major settlements of the cliffs, Griffin was made for the sole purpose of taming the wild Griffins that were pushed into the forest's outskirts for the use of transportation up and down the cliffs. The Overlook Tower
The need to protect Seaview during the Golden Age of Piracy was the top of the Cliff's priorities to keep its trade intact. To do this, a divination wizard was recruited to build a tower to overlook Kraken's Gulf and to send messages to Navy ships if they spotted an unidentifiable ship approaching the cove. This tower still stands and continues to be used to watch the gulf.Waerytomb Prison
A failed fortress turned pirate hold turned prison, Waerytomb is famous for its famous inmates, not just pirates from the coast but criminals across the continent. The prison had fallen to under funding during the time of peace, leaving it nearly ruined. Campaigns to renew the prison were made successfully after a major breakout just before the Leigh II's assassination and the beginning of the Syndicate War and now appears to have regained its lost reputation.

Cliff Tiers
The Kraken Cliffs are named by tiers, the following is a brief description of each tier in order of lowest to highest. Beach Layer - The beach layer is the smallest as it only exists in dips of the wall layer. Here are the significant docks of the cliffs (including Seaview's). Wall Layer - The major layer of the cliffs, the wall layer was named by Seaview after the large walls they built on this layer. Narrow Layer - The narrow layer is the last of the major tiers, being the highest one Seaview is settled on with small patches of forest dotting the cliff. Woodland Layer - Far above the narrow layer is a thick patch of mundane woods. The Plateau - The highest tier and border of the cliffs and the Snowy Plateau.Ships & Griffins
Most major locations within the cliffs are a day's walk or horse ride away, when traveling outside the cliffs utilize ships like everywhere else on the coast (using their own forests for civilian vessels and imported ships from the Snowy Plateau for military and merchant vessels). If transportation is required up or down the cliffs there are several carved stairs and the occasional lift system, but if speed is required the town of Griffin provides mounts of the same name and designated riders to move cargo or a single passenger to their destination.Remove these ads.
