Runes
Runes are special symbols that can contain the magical essence of other materials and creatures. These runes are letters that overlap each other to form words and are also a language called Heaven Script. For runes to work, they must be written with a material that has no magical essence such as chalk. The rune is then filled with essence using an Arcane Focus, runes that don't have essence infused with them are called Blank runes.
