Delvan Bugs (dell-van bugs)

Delvian Bugs are insects that are smaller than a human fingernail. They resemble ladybugs but have a brownish winter leaf color to their wings. The most unique part of their biology is their digestive system. Unlike most other creatures, the bug's diet consists of mostly mana from other creatures which after it digests releases the excrement as light.

Uses

High-priority prisons use these bugs to safely hold magic users. They place the bug on the prisoner's wrist (on top of a vein) and let it consume their mana. The captors would also put a manacle around the bug (or a ward if they have access to a caster) so that the prisoner cannot take it off.
