The Berserkir

You have known nothing but your nomadic family for your whole life. You have wandered with them from place to place, living on the land and the blessings it has brought. Despite hardships and what may come, you always had your family and that was good.   Then the man came. The man was injured, and your people helped him. You shared what you could, and the man seemed grateful. Your reward was a bolt of magic flying from his fingers, sickly green energy arched through you and your family. You fell along with the others. Some rose and followed the man while you felt death come for you. Something burned inside of you with red hot fury as you clawed your way back up to stand. Throwing your spear with a barbaric yap, the point met your intended target's new entourage. The strength left and you fell once more. Blackness. Nothingness.   Awaking to the rain and scavengers gorging themselves on your family's bodies, you were left untouched. You are a revenant to them. No. Worse. Not even suited for the crows or coyotes.
