Yunites

Yunites are a noble people who value honor and peace across the world. They are great engineers for their city walls open with a mechanism that truly is quite amazing to see. it is said of them that they are also very tall and can carry a Lo'tai by the neck like one would with a disobediant child....-Yosar's encyclopedia of Threa.

Culture

Common Dress code

The Yunites were modest people and didn't believe in showing their chests or loins. but they didn't cover their entire arms like the Angellonians are commanded to do, but instead they only covered the chest and hips down to the knees, their stomachs were shown, calfs were shown and their shoulders and arms were shown. they wore leather vests and shorts which were common amongst peasants, but nobility wore linen instead of leather. They both however wore animal furs as well and bone jewelery but the king and queen didn't wear bone jewelry at least not in official appearances.

Art & Architecture

They would commonly make carved stone buildings and gold trim on them. then they would also use silver for religious buildings and bronze for government buildings.

Foods & Cuisine

The Yunites were well known for being more vegetarian than carnivores due to the lack of meat to hunt because of the dangerous wildlife.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

The Yunites and even some Jhedakm today who live on Fodirn'Ladir practiced a ritual where they would take the fruits or vegetables that would grow from their plants and store them until all of their plants had gave their first produce. and then they would dump into a bonfire as an offering to Eloh and expect to be blessed fourfold for doing this.

Birth & Baptismal Rites

When a Yunite would be around 4 weeks old if the baby was a female then her mother would take her and dip her into a bowl of blood from an animal sacrifice as a cleansing for the baby from any wickedness and to ensure the child would enter the afterlife if they died before they reached an age of accountability. But if it was a male then his father would take him and had him also dipped in blood from an animal sacrifice but they also will have the child be trimmed of his horns so that they don't grow longer then their head and that they don't curve too much, which takes a few sessions to complete this ritual.

Coming of Age Rites

A Yunite would become a man when he had hunted a Lo'tai and killed it all by himself, but when Kofhol'ura'Lo'tai had wiped out the Lo'tai in Fodirn'Ladir the tradition changed to where a Yunite male had to hunt a Konrza'Forna instead and then bring back it's wings, which in turn the feathers would be plucked and made to become a piece of clothing but for nobility the feathers would be put onto a crown and the amount of feather's added would equal to how long it took to find and kill this creature. so the more feathers on a crown was seen as less impressive.

Funerary and Memorial customs

When they would cremate their dead they would first put their most treasured belongings into their coffin and also sometimes their wifes or husbands would consume a poison to die and be cremated with their beloved. the deceased's close friends and their family would then carry the coffin to a shrine from their home and put it onto an altar to be burned by a priest and then the ashes would then be put into a jar and then buried on the land that is owned by the next of kin or sibling or parents.

Common Taboos

Consuming blood was seen as vile and degenerate. only the lowest beings would consume blood. they also saw the consumption of berries as blasphemous as berries of anykind was used for offerings to the gods of any kind.
