The Great Sandstone Palace
Purpose / Function
It was made to be a palace for the high king who would reign over the other two sand kingdoms and ensure peace within the land. But over time it was slowly becoming a secondary temple to pagan gods as many priests and sorcerers would become favored by the high kings throughout time.
Alterations
The fourth floor was changed to have a dark glass dome, and all idols and witchcraft devices were destroyed and instead replaced with many tables and bookshelves for scribes and to record things.
The third floor was changed slightly to house Yosakm chieftains and their sons and daughters and the rooms where nobles slept were changed to be storage rooms and at home schooling.
The first two floors kept their original purposes but also with more convenient devices to take some the weight off of the servants in the palace.
Architecture
It is made entirely of sandstone but there is some onyx stone that decorates the palace and gold too. Four walls surround the palace with a gate on each side. The palace itself is in the shape of a circle and a dome shaped roof, with forty and four rooms evenly, symmetrically placed with each room having exactly 50ft wide and long and 20ft tall. A majority of these rooms were used to house servants and only in the third story did nobles, princes and the king himself dwelled. It has four stories, the first floor was used for housing servants that cleaned, cooked and kept the palace in shape. The second story was used to house servants that were more entrusted by the king and his nobles, and they served by delivering messages, writing as a scribe, bodyguards or helping with bathing and the more personal needs of the king. The third story is where the king, his sons and daughters dwelt and for any other nobles that would stay such as ambassadors or kings of other nations, nobles from provinces, and ect. the fourth floor is where the king would consult with his mages or advisors and where he would worship pagan gods.
But now many of the rooms have been refurbished and modified for other purposes.
Defenses
It had four walls that are 48ft tall and 16ft wide and thick made of sandstone as well, with railings that were 6ft tall.
