Lo'tai

The Lo'tye is a infamous type of dragon like animal on Angellonia. In fact Lo'Tai means Dragon. They come in three variants: the finned, bearded and tusked Lo'tai but in Angellonian legend there is a one of a kind Lo'tai called "The Great Hornful or The Great Flyer Lo'Tai" for it is the only Lo'tai depicted to have horns and wings and breath fire.

Basic Information

Anatomy

they usually have two arms, two legs, a long tail, almost like a mix bewteen a monitor lizard, a longer snout beared dragon and a suchomimus like animal.

Biological Traits

They usually weight around a ton or two and have long snout like mouths like a suchomimus and long tails like many large lizards. They have around four toes with claws, on each of their legs and sharp teeth with some that are curved or hooked.

Genetics and Reproduction

they reproduce like lizards. females hold the eggs for about a year until she lays them and incubates them about several months while the male hunts for food for the both of them and are the protectors of their mates and offsprings.

Growth Rate & Stages

when they are hatchlings, it takes about a few months until they grow big enough to grow their claws and teeth. then on average of around 4 years they are juveniles and around 8 years old are they fully grown adults and become elders when they are 260 years old.

Ecology and Habitats

Finned Lo'tai prefer to leave near beaches, lakes or other large bodies of water. The bearded Lo'tai prefer to live where it is sunny and where they can get a lot of sun bathing. The tusked Lo'tai prefer to live in caves and other places where it is very dark.

Dietary Needs and Habits

they are carnivores and eat smaller animals except the finned Lo'tai who is a piscivore.

Biological Cycle

every few months or after eating large amounts of food in a short period of time, they shed their skin so their body can grow a bit more and or heal wounds that are not too severe. during the winter or whenever they are in very cold environments(except for the finned Lo'tai) they dig themselves a burrow large enough to hibernate until the cold season ends.

they tend to be more solitary then live in groups (except for the finned Lo'tai).

Domestication

They are only used as war animals, or for transportation, like a horse.
