The Valentine Insurrection
"We seek to govern ourselves. Is that too much to ask for?"The Valentine Insurrection is a large insurrectionist group created by Iradal Valentine. The Valentine Insurrection is responsible for many off-shoot groups, however the main group serves as a catalyst for all colonial systems seeking independence from rule from Sol. At its core, Valentine and his followers believe that each system is unique, and thus deserves the chance to govern itself. It believes that the Commonwealth should not rule directly over these systems by Aediles and Magistrates that they cannot choose, but should instead allow them independence to rule how they please, and allow them to contribute back to Sol through trade and military assets.

Public Agenda
The agenda of the Valentine Insurrection is to give all colonial planets the choice of independence from the core system of Sol and allow them to choose their own system of government. The VI offers manpower, credits, military assets, and other important assets to allow colonies to actively seek their own will.
Assets
The VI is backed by many corporations and private, rich colonial investors who believe that their methods could bring in greater revenue for their businesses. The VI has also stirred the hearts of many colonial humans who feel left out or not as important as core world humans, giving them the backing of many of the small colonial elite and the colonial masses.
History
In 2080, on the colony of Akap within the system of Zimmer's Hope, a man by the name of Iradal Valentine lead a massive political movement. This movement, known as the Valentine Movement for a Free Akap (VMFA) had gained majority colonial support by the colonist on the planet. They organized massive sit-ins, protests, marches, and demonstrations, and they fought for more say in their government, as colonists cannot choose their Aediles nor Magistrates. When the Commonwealth responded, they responded by force, deploying troops to the planet to quell the demonstrations
A Shift in Tactics
After what seemed to be a hopeless situation for Iradal and his supporters, many of them begin to turn to different, non-peaceful tactics to achieve their goals. This is first highlighted in the fire bombing of several Aedile's Halls across the planet. Shortly after this, armed resistance was organized, and the entire situation quickly spun out of control for the Commonwealth. Iradal Valentine would eventually spread this new movement to several other planets. Iradal Valentine himself now leads the large movement from his personal flagship, the VFV Elaine. The VI currently seeks a colonial holding to establish a true, independent world from, but so far, there have been no worlds that have offered them safe haven. The VI however does operate on many different planets, and regularly clash with Commonwealth forces.Military
The Valentine Insurrectionist relies on stolen or donated vessels to create their fleet. While their fleets are a rag-tag collection of ships, this does not mean they are ineffective. Valentine fleets are regularly able to best or if not match the Commonwealth fleets due to their unconventional tactics. Valentine fleets utilize a large number of ships commanded by androids, with the sole purpose of suicide diving into enemy vessels. After these ships hit their targets, the main flagships of the fleet open fire on the damaged vessels.
Valentine ground forces often use unconventional warfare to achieve their goals. They regularly blend in with civilian populations, make use of IEDs and ambushes, and often will bend the arm of planetary officials to meet their needs.
