Scarlet Ivory
The ivory of the tusks of the Azunean Elephant has a reddish-brown coloration. Azunean elephants are omnivorous and use their tusks to defend themselves, but also as a weapon to hunt other creatures that they feed on. Even though the Azunean Elephant is extremely dangerous, their ivory is valuable enough for daring individuals to attempt to hunt them down.
Ivory with an intense shade of red is rare and comes strictly from elder female matriarchs. This resource is highly sought-after by craftspeople to use as a material for luxury products such as jewelry, but it is sometimes used as a material to decorate instruments and sculptures. Apart from the color, the properties are not too dissimilar to regular ivory and bone. Scarlet ivory has always been an expensive material but in Azuno it was traditionally used to symbolize strength and valor and was typically found in the decoration and ornamentation of armor and weaponry of warriors and hunters who would hunt Azunean Elephants.
