Shared customary codes and values

Dwarves-

The Dwarves of Dunmar, being the protectors of Sanctuary, are treated with the utmost respect by The Protected. Dwarves rotate in and out of Sanctuary in cycles of 30 years, however they are permitted to visit for the period of 1 year each 4 years to visit human friends.

Inventions-

The Protected are highly educated in their youth, attending schools from the age of 6 years old. During this education they are tested for apttitude in metal working, physics, arcane, art, and history. This testing is designed to help place them into specialized schools where, during their teenage years, they begin an apprenticeship. This apprenticeship is designed to help them become productive members of the Protected. After their apprenticeship, they can either begin an approved inventioin project if granted approval by the Council of the Protected, or work under another project. Project leaders are often considered the brighest of their generation so it is a highly sought after position.

Work Life Balance-

Although it may sound as if the Protected solely live for their work, they are given a very generous work life balance. They have a plethora of vacation time and sick days. Dwarves supply them with all the materials and funding for their projects, and mass manufacturing of their inventions is handled by Dwarves as well. The Protected are granted a life of luxury in exchange for their contributions to the Dwarven Empire.

Common Dress code

Borrowing some fashion from Innerith, they wear a melding of victorian and steam punk styles. Gears, tubing, and mechanical suits are all the rage in Sanctuary.

Art & Architecture

The outskirts of Sanctuary share quite a bit of design influence from the Dwarves of Dunmar, with function being worked into beauty and prioritized above it. Beyond the walls is starkly different, with the entirity of the city being designed with human's size in mind.

Ideals

Relationship Ideals

Marriage between humans and dwarves are not uncommon, however successful inventors who marry Dwarves are often expected to contract a surrogate partner in order to pass on their genes. If a Dwarf marries a member of the Protected, they are permitted to spend the rest of that human's lifetime in Sanctuary, and are permitted to help raise their children.
