Jaella Ironhart

Jaella “The Prodigal Daughter” Ironhart is the first born daughter and first child of Emperor Litell “Flameborn” Ironhart.

Jaella always rejected the standard life of a lady, finding the sword more interesting than dresses, and studying old battle scrolls instead of taking to her role as the Emperor’s cup bearer. Her mother and father hated this and wanted her to become a proper lady as it was a hard sell to marry off someone so “boyish”. This constant tug of war between her and her parents led to a strained relationship where for four years after she was deemed a grown woman by the court they only spoke and inhabited the same room during public appearances. Tired of the games and seeking an alliance with the Wyndfara’s he said he would marry her to the winner of the Goldtree tournament joust, who everyone assumed would be Jhin Wyndfara, the second son and the inheritor of “The Lightfoot”.

When she was 20, the Emperor held a tournament at the Wildwüd’s Goldtree to celebrate Jaceryn’s tenth nameday. A mystery knight entered every contest of prowess and placed well in all of them. Placing second in the archery contest, on the winning team in the melee, and finally the knight unhorsed Jhin to win the joust. The Emperor demanded the knight reveal himself so he could be rewarded for his amazing showing. The knight peeled of their helmet and she revealed herself, eyes burning orange, and long red hair spilling from the helmet. It was then everyone knew she was Flameborn just like her father.

Soon after the tournament she was granted her wish and granted a leadership role in the military where her father sent her on a suicide mission to the Red Continent, to which she managed to be the lone survivor of her thousand man fleet. Seeing he couldn’t get rid of her that way he raised her to Queen of Her Tears, and sent her to the southern continent Sessanen. This was the best he could do without outright banishing his daughter from the empire, though this made her the first female Ironhart to be granted the title of Queen.
