Government

Ever since Skydria lost the Battle for Astrofall the Emperor of Biodoma declared martial law in the city, giving Dux Divisionis Nosti the responsibility to over see the city. Taxation is enforced by the Magistrus appointed to the city with the military assisting the collection of taxes if needed. Despite a Magistrus office being established the Biodoman Legion is still responsible for enforcing the rules and regulations of the Empire.

Defences

The Varia River provides a natural barrier, when Negus Dune was evaluating the defenses of the city, he decided to destroy 4 out of the 6 bridges that granted access to the city, he also decided to build the outer city walls along the river to better repeal attackers. Today most of the outer city walls on the North side has been destroyed due to the siege that happened during the Biodoman invasion, repairing the walls is a going project by the LEGIO III Engineering. Central Astrofall has the highest walls in the city with most of it still being intact, the walls also have towers which has been repurposed by the Engineering Legion to hold artillery and anti-air placements.   Astrofall is the staging ground for 2nd Exercius due to being the heart of transportation for Rodria, most of high command for 2nd Exercius have temporary quarters within Astrofall for when they need to leave their permanent homes at Castra Leon. Many units within 2nd Exercius would come and go through the city, 1st Infantry Divisio led by Divisio Dux Clemens Nosti is the unit incharge of keeping the peace within the city. 1st Infantry Divisio would be made up of LEGIO I Infantry, LEGIO II Infantry and LEGIO III Engineering, with 1 Cohor of Vulpes Auxiliary and addiontially 1 Cohor from Praetorian Guard from LEGIO X. Although tasked as an occupying force individual Cohorts from each of these legions will go and support the front lines from time to time to better support the greater Corpus and Exercius.

Industry & Trade

Astrofall being the main trade hub for Rodria and most Norther major city for Skydria, trades more with the UCUA and Biodoma than other regions within Skydria. Many foreign exports would cycle in and out of the city as many wealthy companies from different cities of Skydria would buy much needed product from foreign soils.   Main exports of Astrofall include Maldern, Hyper Diesel, machinery and transportation equipment. After Biodoma captured the city most of these exports would be redirected to Biodoma for the needs of the Empire.

Infrastructure

Astrofall has 22 different main rail lines with 100s of different train and metro station stops, Astrofall also has five main skyports scatter throughout the whole city and one big fueling tower for airships located in Central Astrofall. The biggest skyport is called Astrofall Skyport located on the far west side of the city. Outside the walls of Central Astrofall are many streets for automobiles to get around, while inside the walls there is one main street that goes through Rucker Station. The station serves two main train lines and one big parking garage. Due to Negus Dune genius, Astrofall has one of the best sewer systems in the world, the sewer system became the gold standard for many other cities to follow around the country.   The dreadful Battle of Astrofall manage to destroy 5 out of the 7 Airship Dockyards located in North Astrofall and disrupt 9 out of the 22 train lines that run throughout the city.

Districts

Due to the mass of the city, Astrofall is divided into 5 main districts, North, South, East, West and Central Astrofall with each district divided into smaller sub-districts. Outside the official borders of the city limits is the smaller fewer notable towns of Jolton, Kalston and Lubfield.   North Astrofall is the most damage out of all of the districts with many known gangs, mobsters and resistance groups usually operating out of this part of the city. This district still holds 1 working airship dockyard and 1 open port along the river. There are no longer notable sub-districts within North Astrofall due to them being destroyed, it has been said that the Biodoman Empire is leaving the district destroyed as a reminder to the Skydrian of what happened when the Biodomans first captured the city.   Central Astrofall is the wealthiest and least damaged out of all the districts with the townhall and justice building also being located in the area, most Biodomans move to this part of the city and life has resumed as normal for most citizens that stayed behind after the battle. Notable sub-districts include Kattenhorn, Queens Square, Bedford Estates and Sheffield. Kattenhorn is Central Astrofall's main shopping area, it also houses one small skyport. Queens Sqaure holds most of Central Astrofall's services for the district, this includes a firehouse, hospital, tax collection center and townhall. Queens Square also has the Museum of History, main Justice Building and the biggest sky station fueling tower in the city. Bedford Estates is the defacto rich neighborhood, although the houses don't look like much living anyway in Central Astrofall is really expensive compared to the rest of the city. Sheffield is the smaller and much nicer shopping center of the Central Astrofall, it holds many premium shops.   East Astrofall holds most of the middle to lower class population of the city, with neighborhoods such as Eastside, Dunhaven, Apple Tree Plains and Coltington. East Astrofall is more suburban focused and has no skyscrapers, but they do have a small sky station for smaller airships and small commercial center.   South Astrofall holds most of the city's industry, it largely remains intact however most of the big manufacturing companies got taken over by the Biodoman Government after the Battle of Astrofall. This is to redirect important resources like Maldern and Hyper Diesel for the war against Skydria and its allies.   West Astrofall has the biggest skyport in the city with a big tourist commercial center across from it, there is also many automobile and personal airship dealerships around the area. West Astrofall also holds the historic district with most of the buildings attracting tourist. This is considered the second busiest part of the city with the first being Central Astrofall.

History

During the Age of Invention, the city was founded by Duke William Bennfield during the initial Maldern Rush. The small town was to serve numerous of purposes including being the hub for most Maldern Exports out of Hyper Canyon to surrounding nations and trade partners within Skyria. The first major railway line in Rodria that was commission by Grand Dutchess Mary Bennfield was to go through Astrofall first and connect to the bigger Skydrian railway network. Due to the Maldern Rush in the Hyper Canyon region of Rodria most workers would reside in Astrofall and take the train to the mines, this caused the city to grow fast with a population of about 13,100 people within the first 5 years of the towns founding. Astrofall ended up becoming the biggest mining town in the region due to being connected directly with the rail system.   After the Maldern Rush Astrofall would see a steady population growth as more rail lines and minor sky ports were being added near the outskirts of the city. About 15 years after the initial founding of the city grew with a population of over 100,000 people quickly becoming the biggest city in Rodria, dethroning the capital city of the region.   As the city grew many of the streets became conjested with carriage and train travel. Some Airships coming in and out of the sky ports had up to four hour wait time before docking, sometimes traders would land there airships in other nearby towns or open fields and take one of the many trainlines that ran throughout the city. Conjestion was made worse with the introduction of the automobile to city streets as Astrofall reached the 1 million mark about 35 years after the initial founding. On Dawn 7th, Negus Dune visited the city and saw how inefficient everything was being ran by the Duke at the time. With permission from the King himself the city was re-imaged by the Grand Architect and he started to rebuild the city tearing down whole districts and reworking all of Central Astrofall. For the next 10 years Grand Architect Negus Dune would work on the city, building many famous landmarks across the city. Due to Astrofall being such a vitial trade hub for Skydria, Negus Dune built Central Astrofall and the outskirts like a fortress with big towering walls being built seperating Central Astrofall from the rest of the city. This end up causing some class issues with many of the high wealthy class the backed the project moving into the area away from the more industrial parts of the city.   During the Age of Conquest Biodoma invaded Skydria capturing Astrofall within the 1st month of The Grand Global War, despite the defenses that Negus Dune put inplace the force of the Biodoman Legion was too much to bare with its weight crashing down on the citizens of Astrofall. Due to Negus Dune being Biodoman, much of Central Astrofall taking inspiration from many Biodoman cities and Astrofall being the main trade hub for the region, the Emperor of Biodoma decided not to lay waste to Central Astrofall causing minimal damage when capturing the area. Most of North Astrofall and surrounding towns were layed to ruin and left to be rebuilt by the Biodoman Legion, West, East and South Astrofall faired better but still had some considerable scares from the Battle for Astrofall. The battle started on Memtim 2nd with it ending on Memtim 14th, AoC Year 6 with many of the citizens escaping and being displaced to different regions within Skydria.   Today Biodoma controls Astrofall and most of the Hyper Canyon region with the Skydrians holding out at the edges of the canyon, slowy pushing them out deeper into Rodria. Throughout the year there have been small pockets of resistances breaking out to try and take back the city with most of it stemming from North Astrofall.

Points of interest

Rucker Station is the biggest train and subway hub located in Central Astrofall at the heart of the city. Just right outside Rucker Station is the Workers Arch, a really big arch built to act as an memorial for all the workers that died during the re-construction of Astrofall. Dune Park is Astrofall's biggest park built to honor Nengus Dune located in East Astrofall after his death, the park is famous for its train like paths.

Tourism

Astrofall being a newly conquered city by Biodoma has caused the tourism industry to slow down by half. Many tourists come from countries that align themselves with the Pact of Empires or neutral nations that prefer to stay out of the global armed conflict, unless the war comes to their border.

Architecture

Many of the modern buildings in Central Astrofall was designed by Negus Dune, with the style of architecture being the famous Deco style that was more widely used towards the end of the Age of Invention and much into the Age of Conquest.   Most of North Astrofall is unrecognizable even a year after Biodoma captured the city the Engineering Corps in the area is slow to repair the damage in the area.

Geography

Astrofall is located on flat plains about 45 miles away from the North Western entrence of Hyper Canyon. The Varia River marks the northern edge of the city acting as a natural barrier, the river stems from Enchament Lake located in the Diamond Mountains and feeds into the Bermingshire Canal.

Natural Resources

Much like many other towns and cities located near Hyper Canyon Astrofall is best well known for its Maldern deposits which is still being extracted till this day but is no longer the main export of the city. It was later discovered that big Hyper Diesel desposits were located 25 miles East of the city outskirts, this soon became Astrofalls biggest export replacing Maldern.
