Zeclaria
The land of new opportunities
Overview
Zeclaria is the temperate region on the East Coast of the continent, Arra. It is home to a bustling capital known as Thyrus, a cultural and trade powerhouse. It's second largest city, the sovereign Newhill, is home to the spiritual Wood Elves. Some say the Goddess of Peace, Eldath, lives here in mortal form. Other than those two major landmarks, Zeclaria has a collection of smaller towns and villages dotted across the land.Structure
A Sovereign Nation
Zeclaria is not a Kingdom. The area has always been one large and sparsely populated hilly grassland with civilizations dotted throughout. No established nation was taken to become a part of the conglomerate, therefor there is no King.Archduke/Archduchess
Within the capital of Zeclaria, Thyrus, are where the rulers of the country can be found. Since Zeclaria is not a kingdom, the nation is ruled by a sovereign Prince or Princess, known as the Archduke or Archduchess. These monarchs have the ultimate say in policy of the region, however, their Council of Advisors plays a large role in affecting their decision making. The mantel is passed down by bloodlines or through marriage, and whomever in the union between Prince and Princess holds the royal blood, is the true ruler of the land. The Council of Advisors
The Council of Advisors is responsible for many of the decisions made in Zelcaria, directly or indirectly. They are always in the ear of their superior monarchs, and have been responsible for many great...and detrimental policies. The Great Oracle
The Great Oracle sees all. They can even see the future, should they wish. Whether or not this fact is played up by the public, the myth being more entertaining than the truth, the fact remains that the Great Oracle is renowned for great wisdom. Seemingly touched by the gods, whomever holds this position is normally a very old and very wise elf that has seen the passing of many rulers throughout history, and knows the ways of royalty and it's subjects. Normally, the upmost trust is put in this great figure. Currently held by Alinar Virroris. The Holy General
For just over a century, the Divine Order have inserted themselves into much of the inner workings of Zeclaria. Their hand in government soon became apparent when the Wartime Advisor position on the council was filled by a Holy General from the Divine Order. The Holy General is responsible for all things military, both foreign and domestic. They are the head of the military, second only to the Arch-duchy. Currently held by General Respen CarkasEconomic Advisor
The Councilman responsible for the economic direction of Zeclaria. They identify economic trends, and introduce policy to shape the economy of the region for the better. They also approve the addition or removal of trade and artisan guilds in the country. Currently held by Vulmar Baric.Maritime Advisor
Another position filled by the Divine Order is that of the Maritime Advisor, senior official regarding all naval activities. They work heavily with the Economic Advisor and Holy General to dictate sea-faring trade policy and the allocation of naval resources. Currently held by Admiral Feyrith Rowraek.Cultural Advisor
Perhaps the least focused on policy, but most focused on advising, is that of the Cultural Advisor. They are responsible for maintaining balance between the righteous mandate of the gods and a robust, diverse culture within the region. A good Cultural Advisor can be among the most popular figures in the nation. Currently held by Simimar Petro.Judicial Advisor
Above local judges, politicians, and even the Royal Court, is the Judicial Advisor. The most supreme of all judges, they are the righteous gavel of the law, enforcing the will of the gods and the government. This position is among the most respected and reviled. Currently held by Antinua Galanodel.Public Agenda
"We hereby declare Zeclaria, as the home of beings who wish to create a new destiny for themselves. With the Holy Triad watching and guiding, we shall usher in a society that proves anything is possible."

The Divine Order & Thyresian Military
Zeclaria boasts a sizable army. Not only does Thyrus house a large military force within it's walls that is amply supplied, but The Divine Order, a large religious order of Paladins and Clerics, is housed within the nation too. They have troops in Thyrus, Goldenleaf, Newhill, and even their own fortress, called The Eye of The Order.Home of Divine Beings
The Holy Triad, made up of the Gods of Peace, Righteousness, and Justice, declare dominion over Zeclaria. Eldath, a minor deity, is sometimes seen in humanoid form under the Whisper Wood, a large tree in Newhill that is a conduit for celestial energy. Temples to Helm dot the region, with only the most dedicated Paladins and Clerics may step foot inside. It is also said the father of these two gods, Tyr, watches over the children of the region, despite never intervening in their affairs. The Shine of Wealth
Zeclaria's natural silver deposits provide it with a valuable export, one that brings in a decent amount of wealth. The capital, Thyrus, also boasts the largest market places of any known city.History
Pilgrimage and Colonies
After the war between the primordial beings had ended, and the world had taken it's final shape, the gods of the multiverse stepped in to stake their claim over the land and establish their dominion. Tyr and his two children, Helm and Eldath, decided the rolling grasslands and hills of Zeclaria would be their refuge. At first, they had no worshipers. The Orc tribes that inhabited the land only worshiped their creator, Gruumsh. Tyr and his family cared not, for it was Tyr's belief that despite having dominion over the land, the day to day activity of mortals should not concern the gods, and to expose them to his power would simply shatter their minds. However, when the Elves came to this new land in search of prosperity, Tyr allowed Eldath and Helm to make themselves known to the creatures, as they were a wise and cultured people. The Elven sects decided to worship what is now known as "The Holy Triad." They built their society around their new found spiritual idols, and the Triad's status of the gods of this land was forever solidified. Not long after they arrived, the two groups of Elves disagreed on how best to run their civilization. The High Elves felt that they should be in strict control of their new society, and that it would be run according to the will of the gods. The Wood Elves believed less in the dogmatic rule, and more in a spiritually guided governing. The two groups mutually agreed to separate, as these two views seemed irreconcilable. As the civilizations grew, the native species to the land, such as Orcs and Ogres, were pushed further North and West. Now, Thyrus is a bustling trade hub that grows increasingly secular, despite the wishes of the High Elves. Newhill is a spiritual sanctuary, where enlightened individuals go to commune with extra planar entities and the even the gods themselves.A nation protected by the Holy Triad. Defended by Helm, kept peaceful by Eldath, and guided by Tyr.
