Varconian History

After an arduous journey through the harsh and frigid alpines along the Spine of Varconia, the Sausage party reached the temple housing the first of the four stones of power.   After a couple challenges, the party was faced with a Sphinx's trial: to determine the Sphinx's name (while also staying alive through the Sphinx's deadly attacks).   Through a clever wording of a suggestion spell, and an impossibly strong display of charisma, Gerome Gerald managed to overcome the Sphinxes immunity to charm, convincing it to divulge the answer to its riddle: Psairokas.   Gerome immediately celebrated with a flourish, But the sphinx did not take kindly to his hubris and decietful methods, and dealt him a mutilating blow, the details of which are too gruesome to recount at this time.   After accepting defeat, the Sphinx bestowed the heartstone upon the party, and shared a vision of the future depicting a ruined Varconia should Malberon not be defeated. He also disclosed the location of another powerful artifact, a moonblade, once wielded by the elven warlock Ivelios Mooncairn.

The forces of Malberon suddenly overtake the Ashkeeper Garrison with an overwhelming army of undead, and a devestating tactic using purple worms to burrow beneath fortifications.   It is later discovered by the Sausage Party that the Hobgoblins which attacked Oleville one day prior are also affiliated with Malberon.   These events mark an official declaration of war between Malberon and Varconia.

After travelling through the swamps of Malus, the Sausage Party arrives at the Yuan-Ti city of Sy'raxyl, navigating through an underwater passage into the dungeon of Explicitica Defilus.   After navigating through the dungeon, the Sausage Party discovers that Explicitica Defilus has fused the Mind Stone (one of the 4 stones of power) into her head, and has been using it in order to maintain control of her hivemind in Barrelben.   After a challenging fight, the party defeats Explicitica Defilus and retrieves the Mind Stone. The second of the 4 stones of power.
