Report: Session 0

General Summary

All players meet and discussed the campaign. Ryan explained how the setting is a mix of 1880's western, fantasy, and light steam punk.

He established that the PC's all know each other and are good friends. This could be familial or just friends. The party decided to found their own salvage business together. They were sponsored by a salvage guild to help expand into Modakin and the surrounding area. The PC's were supplied a wagon, 2x oxen, and 4 light horses by the guild and sent to Modakin to meet with a contact requesting a salvage team.

The setting takes place in a tribal nation set on open plains and rolling hills. Light firearms are new to the world and are typically sought after by governments to help supply their basic troops, however, these troop tend to be highly specialized and elite. Most arms and armor are that found in standard fantasy medieval stories.

Time was spent working with the players to help create a party and the PC's within. The ability scores were rolled in Roll20 by rolling 4d6 and dropping the lowest. This was done six times. Once rolled, the six scores were assigned as a base ability score as picked by the player.

  • Jason - Building a herbalist druid Samsaran with divine magic, shapeshifting, potions dealer, and with some healing. Base Ability Scores: 15, 18, 16, 10, 11, 11
  • Mike - Building a Human rogue arcane caster with the idea of arcane trickster in mind. Base Ability Scores: 14, 13, 9, 14, 13, 10
  • Ernie - Built a front line dwarven barbarian with a waraxe and shield. Base Ability Scores: 14, 13, 12, 12, 12, 7
  • Caleb - Building a backline elven gunslinger. Base Ability Scores: 12, 13, 14, 15, 12, 16

Next Time

The group will continue fleshing out their character builds and record them in Roll20. Ryan asked that if people have any questions while finishing up the builds, that he be asked via Discord. He will work with each person to help make sure they are ready for when next session will be held.

Ryan will continue preparing for the adventure. It is planned to have Session 1 of this adventure when Jason needs some time and/or rest from his EvilAssholes campaign. For that reason, it is important to get be prepared for when the next session is held.
