Without warning a mysterious asteroid-starship appeared on the very far edge of the Raakata system, carried there by the boiling tides of witchspace that have forever surrounded Raakata. Thousands of Ork ships thundered across the Raakata system too rapidly and in too large a number for even the might of the Imperial fleets to counter.    Ork ships slammed into stations, planets and outposts across the whole star system. Apocalyptic battles erupted everywhere. This is spoken of in legend as "The Blood Tide".

Without warning a mysterious asteroid-starship appeared on the very far edge of the Raakata system, carried there by the boiling tides of witchspace that have forever surrounded Raakata.    The great Imaru halted his long labours on Raakata Primus and immediately assembled a warfleet, leading many of his Exiles to meet the Ork invasion. Such a fleet had not been needed for many centuries and much of it was scattered through the many colonies on the other side of the Erebus Gate.   The terrible alien asteroid-ship disgorged many thousands of invader ships that thundered across the Raakata system too rapidly and in too large a number for even the might of Imaru’s fleet to counter. Marauding alien ships slammed into stations, planets and outposts across the whole star system. Apocalyptic battles erupted everywhere. This was the start of the invasion by the most foul Greenskin Ork Raiders.
