Personal history

Was raised by his uncle after his mother died in childbirth. His uncle adopted a little girl the same age as Nicholas and raised them together from the age of two. At 16 his uncle had him sacrifice her in order to fully initiate him into the cult.   Later he created the group the Night Ravens to cover his movements and gain access to various materials and locations. He instituted a duo system, partially due to how he was raised and also so he could see how devoted his followers were to him when he asked them to kill their pair bonds.
