Richard Roe

Richard is a Roc, meaning he is able to transform into a large Bird capable of flight and harnessing electricity to zap enemies. In addition to that, he could grow large chitin-blades from his arms that even could cut through hardened armor.   When his Omni-Orb shard got removed from his hand however, he lost the abilities he had as a Roc and gained the Cronos´ abilities instead as he was a pure Cronomorph from that moment on. As such, he could morph his limbs into sharp weapons, transform his body into that of a demonic beast and had strong regenerative abilities.

Richard was actually born as a Roc on Planet Sombra, a small Covenant Black site used for research on biological weapons. His father was the Rocs most famous lead scientist Columba Ziz Falco, who discovered a way to replicate an Alpa-Genome from Cronomorph DNA, allowing Roc to create obedient Cronomorphs for military purpose. After finding out his second son Milan was born braindead due to an accident, Columba implemented the Alpha Genome into the newborn whose brain suddenly showed activity shortly after that. However, the child had to be kept in captivity from there on as he could have dealt massive damage to the planet should he turn out to be hostile.   4 years later, the Rocs homworld Aquila had been thrown out of its orbit and was heading towards its central sun, killing billions of Roc in a short amount of time. While the Covenant believed it to be a cosmic catastrophy, the Roc believed it was a terrorist attack, altough they weren´t sure who exactly could have been responsible for that. Following this incident, all surviving Roc across the galaxy left their colonies and headed to the seven Omni-Orb depots, large fortresses disguised as moons scattered over several star systems. However, the fleet that should take Columba and his family from Sombra to the Depot within Eldoras Moon, took a detour on Columbas order to the now human populated Gaja-System after picking up a signal of a 1000 year old cronomorph research facility. Shortly after, the fleet got attacked by Medjai-Soldiers, killing the crew and arresting Columba. Milan however managed to escape during the chaos and got to an escape pod, which already ste the course to the fleets original destination.   In 3390, a strange aircraft crashlanded next to a human farming settlement called Grovers Hill on Planet Nero. After the Order of the United Colonies secured the area, the soldiers discovered a little boy within the capsule witha seemingly human appearance. The military consulted the renowned Xeno-Psychologist Linda Goldstein, as they hoped she could make contact with the boy. Shortly after, Linda managed to convince the boy that she would not harm him and he was given a place to rest. Since he didn´t seem to know his own name, he was given the designation "Richard Roe". a term usually used to describe people whose identity is yet unclear. The United Colonies founded a task force dedicated to find out Richard Roe´s place of origin as well as finding out why he looks human and who sent him there in first place. Out of fear of triggering a political conflict, Rihcard was taken care of by Linda Goldstein herself, who raised Richard as her own son and gave him the name Neil, as she wanted him to atleast have a real name that is not a mere designation.   Years went by as Richard lived with his adoptive Mother and his two little sisters in Neros main capital New Colossus. During this time, he was brought to a special school to test his intelligence as well as social behavior, where he met Lyra Sanchez who would later become his best friend. 3397 however, New Colossus was attacked by the Star Spawn, detonating a nuclear weapon in the cities center. At the time, Richard and Lyra were with Lyras mother Carola, who desperately tried to escape the city by car and bring the children to a safer place. Their escape was brought to an abrupt end as Star Spawn soldiers started attacking the survivors of the nuclear blast. Carola dies protecting the children, but to no avail as some Keaddan managed to bite off Lyras arm and pluck out her eye. What followed then was capured by a surveillance drone: Richards body began to rapidly grow into a bird like creature 3 times his original size and started violently tearing 5 Keaddan and 1 Borogai apart. After transforming back, Richard and Lyra could both be saved, however Lyra lost an arm and an eye in addition to getting deeply traumatized while Richard turned out to be miraculously unharmed, tough he did not seem to remember the incident captured by the drone.   After the destruction of New Colossus, Richard and Lyra moved to Ohana, Neros new main Capital, where they would do their best to live a relatively normal childhood as it was now clear that humanity was in an open conflict with another space faring civilization. When both Richard and Lyra finished highschool, they would both enlist in the Order of the United Colonies to become trained soldiers fighting back the Star Spawn. Much to Richarttds dismay however, he was rejected and recommended for low level ISEC-Duty instead, which would mean he would be doing to more than punishing traffic violations while his best friend Lyra, who was his girlfriend at the time, got a sponsorship for testing out new proestethics used for combat. Richard eventually broke up with his girlfriend and completely resigned during his training as a police officer.   3411 however was the year his life would shift completely. After finding out he spent the last 3 years of his life within a research facility on the Roanoke Space Station designed to look like Ohana-City, he got saved by his Ex-Girlfriend Lyra Sanchez, who was now a Chief Lieutenant leading the Starseal Special Task Force for intergalactic threats. Lyra explained that his rejection by the order was a pretext to keep Richard safe from the Star Spawn who had take a special interest in him. However, the situation looked grim for humanity and the government decided it was time for Richards powers to turn the tables.   This marked the beginning of TERRA AFTER EARTH: WRATH OF THE STARS.
