Kaelyn Corlassi

The Neo-Wayfinder

History

Kaelyn Corlassi grew up in a small village built around the remote ruin known as Stellar Hollow, a rediscovered bastion of history tucked away inside The Bimbling Wood, where Azher'Tek constructions had been built atop even older Andron remnants. Her mother, an esteemed Azher'Tek archaeologist, dedicated her life to studying Andron relics and the history of the people.   Kaelyn's father, a Human, vanished before she was born, and so she was raised by her mother and stepfather. Both being Azher'Tek, Kaelyn identifies more with the Tek than humans, and she wishes to see them restored to their ancient glory. For in her time, the people had long been relegated to the bottom of society, and the great heights they had reached during Mordred's reign was dismissed as myth.   The Azher'Tek reverence for craftsmanship and innovation shaped Kaelyn's identity. Her keen mind and nimble fingers were nurtured by the Tek village she was raised in, and she spent her childhood surrounded by scraps of ancient devices, both Andron and Tek.   When Kaelyn was fifteen, she discovered a dilapidated Tek Raft on one of her adventures into the ruin and poured her knowledge and creativity into restoring it. But the Tek Raft, long broken, was missing much of its material and lacked a sufficient power source. It wasn't until seventeen-year-old Kaelyn later discovered a Godstone that she was able to transform the defective relic into something revolutionary: The Starwing, a vehicle of unprecendented speed and agility-- proving Azher'Tek ingenuity still thrives in her veins.   Though the Wayfinders died out by this time, Kaelyn always dreamed of being one. However, out of love for her parents, she never left home until she was forced to.   One day, when Kaelyn was out surfing the ruins with her newly created Starwing, her village was attacked by a group Kaelyn would later learn was the Shrouded Veil-- a secretive organization that had sensed the activation of Kaelyn's Godstone and hunted her for it. The Shrouded Veil seized control of her village, refusing access to any.   After sneaking back into the high alert settlement, Kaelyn was confronted by her mother for her foolishness. During this altercation, Kaelyn's mother was seized by the Shrouded Veil and Kaelyn barely escaped. She traveled across Teralt seeking aid, but the political climate of the world was too turbulent for any to offer it.   On these adventures, Kaelyn proclaimed herself a neo-Wayfinder, swearing to find a way to save her family and destroy the Shrouded Veil. Entering multiple of Heyvus, the Hoarder's vaults and looting them for historical relics and Andron secrets, she gained allies and access to advanced ancient weaponry, facing off against Shadow Selves along the way. After her many preparations, Kaelyn destroyed most of the Shrouded Veil's bases across Teralt and eventually took back her home.

During her travels, Kaelyn made many modifications to her Starwing, adding a grappling hook to enable her vertical scaling of cliffs and high walls, and extendable wings to increase her Starwing's lift. Its Godstone was also a powerful energy source capable of activating long-buried Andron relics, such as Aetheliths and teleportation gates, which Kaelyn used to travel all across the world.

Personality

In her youth, Kaelyn's natural curiosity drove her to uncover the secrets of the past, but her relentless pursuit of knowledge often led to trouble. She used her quick wit to navigate social situations and defuse tension, though her antics sometimes tested the patience of those around her. And young Kaelyn was reckless, too, often biting off more than she could chew due to her confidence.   As an old woman, a great-great-grandmother, Kaelyn was an endless source of love and wisdom. Her community sought her advice on decisions both great and small, and her family saw her as even more than the folk hero she became. Kaelyn, though she lost her energy and dexterity, never ceased her mischief, and often defended her grandchildren when they were in trouble with their parents. In fact, the last thing she ever said to her great-great-grandaughter after her parents had scolded her was, "Never stop being who you are. As a child I, too, went places I shouldn't have. But be sure not to let it get you into more trouble than you can handle."

Parental Relationships

Kaelyn's mother loved her very much, and always encouraged her to do what she loved. She taught her everything she knew of the Androns, the Azher'Tek, and other history. The two spent much time together until Kaelyn's unexpected disappearance.   Kaelyn's stepfather was a pragmatic merchant, and disapproved of her obsessions and dangerous expeditions. He believed she should focus on a stable trade like joining his caravan business. He feared she chased a legacy that no longer mattered. To him, the Azher'Tek were nothing more than their present circumstances.
