The Witch is a mortal being, often human but sometimes another of the mortal races. They possess powers of magic, and those powers all relate, somehow to the magical world.

Witches possess the same magical abilities as the Morgazi Moroi, however, they do not possess the genetics to be able to ascend, nor do they possess the ability to pass Moroi genes on to their offspring.
