Geography
In the north of the DIvinarate lies one of its more odd provinces. The land of Laeng is a temperate, hilly and forested environment, with large mountains in the north which act as the Divinarates northern border. The province is the most militaristic Rasini province and the third biggest supplier of manpower in the Divinarate. A huge network of fortified passages through the mountains protects the province from its biggest threat, namely the rogue Bezjan menace invading from the north.
Culture
The province is one of the few in the Divinarate where snow is a common sight in the colder seasons. This combined with the lush forests and militarized people have given it a unique identity, perhaps the one most tied to the Rasini's ancient past before they rose as a great power on the world stage. Its people are relatively isolated from their Rasini brethren and very much prefer it stay so, viewing themselves as more honest than their more urbanized neighbors to their south.
Politics
Elections here are on the surface mostly fair, however it is clear that local leaders hold much sway over where the vote goes. Rather than individuals privately voting for who they like most, it is more common for local communities to all cast their vote in the favor of the same candidate as one large block.
