Irene
Champion
Irene is the champion of Gemitom and serves him by guarding the Beacon of Dawn. She is revered in the Divinarate, especially the island of Saril, as she originally came from there.

Personal history
Irene was born in a small village on the island of Saril. She spent her early years helping around with chores and other ordinary activities. Her life would change drastically when her father, who was a soldier for the Divinarate, died fighting against a Bezjan raid somewhere far away in Taria. Irene was angered immensely by the sudden news, she felt a duty to join the army and fight the Bezjans, so she signed up for the army.
After her training was complete, she was stationed in Taria and began serving in one of many border regiments. Her life would again take a turn, when in one fateful battle she encountered her father, but as an undead minion of a Necromancer. This awakened something in Irene, and after having to slay her father as a ghoul, she fell into shock and fled away from the battlefield.
She was officially presumed dead, but in reality she had fled into Thyrimia, where she contemplated what to do.
