Artesjan Popular Front
ONE DAY, WE WILL WIN. YOU HAVE TO BE LUCKY EVERY DAY. WE HAVE TO BE LUCKY ONCE.
There has always been a great amount of far-left meddling in Artesjan politics, at least as far back as is relevant. Even in the old oligarchy before Artemis, there were partisans in the hills, stealing what they could and distributing it through illicit networks. Nowadays, however, they're much more daring.
From the largest foothold of far-left thought in the Artesjan Iron Belt, the APF arose during the opening days of the civil war; a revolution in the heart of Artesja.
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Artesja fields a large, mostly self-armed collection of militias. The front's location also lends it a large base for the production of both civilian and military goods.
LET SLIP WAR-POWER YOU'VE NE'ER SEEN BEFORE, IMPALE THE OPPRESSORS ON BARBED WIRE.
The APF is the largest and most influential force in the Artesjan Liberation Front, a faction in the Civil War representing forces of the far-left, Totalists, and Anarchists. This diversity is both a strength and a detriment, making large-scale recruitment easier, while also making the overall ideological cohesion of the faction considerably weaker.
For now, though, they're content to work together in fighting Artesjan Capital and Fascism. It is worth noting that the ALF is the most internationally excluded faction in the civil war, receiving virtually no aid from any organization or state abroad. This can be attributed to the radical ideas they're fervently advocating for. No king would send arms to the Communards, no weapons manufacturer would arm their revolution.
Culture
It's hard to attribute any of the larger cultural elements within the Popular Front to events that occurred after its inception; quotas are often set high, and workdays are frantic. The APF has a drive for productivity completely unlike the Ungri Communes' laid-back, anarchic approach, or the Tundrarian Military District's "Military First" mindset.
At the same time, unions are constantly out for blood and often butt heads with the Commisariat of Industrial Management, the department responsible for the planned economy. It's a constant back-and-forth between workers' rights and productivity.
