While attending a ceremonial speech by the Duke of Obbas to bring in the new year, Nexus witnessed a pickpocket lift a ring from a man in the crowd. The two gave chase and eventually corned the thief in an alley, where the ring was returned and a gold piece given to the thief in the spirit of good will. Luci, the man with the stolen ring, offered to buy Nexus a drink and over some time they decided to travel to the Great Crossroads Together since they were both going that way.

Fire flies
While travelling east toward the Great Crossroads, Dr. Sinata Venma happened upon the scene of a robbed and destroyed trade wagon being investigated by Chedvah. After a tense introduction, the two decided to follow what appeared to be a trail of drag marks and strange tracks deep into the Talenelat. They soon came upon the webby dwelling of a large, battered spider picking over the food it had obtained. Through some clever use of fire, Chedvah was able to force the spider back andDr. Venma cut an unconscious, elderly halfling man free from a cocoon and safely return to the road. After failing to revive him there, the two made their way to a nearby hamlet where Dr. Venma concocted a remedy for his patient. The man identified himself as a trader by the name of Fedbir Longfellow and accompanied the two adventurers to the Crossroads the following day. Once there, they met Mira Penfell who offered them some work if they returned the next day. After securing some lodging Chedvah and Dr. Venma slept and thought on what awaited them the following day.

Nexus and Luci thrash the Leaning Tree Bandits
On their way to The Great Crossroads, Nexus and Luci were held up by The Leaning Tree Bandits . Luci feigned having to pee, and was able to sneak around behind Stu while their half-orc leader talked to Nexus. Two pops left Stu reeling against the Leaning Tree. The bandits nearly downed Luci before Stu and their leader were burned and knocked out. The halfling got severe burns before running away to fight another day. Stu and the leader were left in a hole molded by Nexus, and Luci carved LN above a heart with HO &SE inside to mark the Leaning Tree.

Dendra discovers a Tree Dwarf
After arriving in the Great Crossroads the night before, and obtaining lodging in the Breezewatch Barracks under the approval of Eldon Kynes. One of the guardswomen offered to help her find work so she could continue on to the Sunlit Citadel. The next day the guard introduced Dendra to Mira Penfell, who asked her to investigate reports of Goblins and strange lights in some ruins along the north road out of the city. Dendra stopped by Heatwakers to purchase a shield before heading north. Along the way she came across a young dwarf being harassed in a tree by some goblins. One of the goblins and its pet rat were slain while the other escaped. Dendra and her new friend Florian Debock continued on toward the ruin and whatever else lay within it.

A party forms
FoundingAfter a piecemeal assembly, a group of men and women from disparate backgrounds came together to free the area from the threat posed by a band of goblinoids. In the process, they rescued five people from probable slavery in frigid twisting valleys of the Canglirs. Although some may never know what happened in the ruins atop that wooded hill, those that do will never forget how they were saved.

A party sets out
After a successful expedition north, the party had a night of getting to know each other before spending the day shopping and tying up loose ends in town. They met Father Rowley Ilatris, whom they offered to escort to Stenbalan. His company proved to be short in stature, long in tooth, and rather opinionated. But the party set out West along the Crown Circuit toward Stenbalan and perhaps even a pretty water lady
