Session XXVII: Many Roots

The party explored the city, meeting a number of the locals:   Wiinken perused more of the local wares and met Pansy, a half-Dryad girl who crafts treesung dolls. She traded her moth sprite doll for one of Wiinken's clockwork owls.   Zenora went to Brewed Awakening and forged a relationship with Illitran Zylbalar, owner and head barista, who is teaching Zenora everything there is to know about coffee and latte art.   Calico Jack secured passage for the party at the week's end on a small fishing coracle with Captain Isaac.   Horxim went to the The Bethellan and met the novice Odo, whom he encouraged to believe in himself more. He spoke with Chisel Tick and the Master/Mistress of Memory Raenisa and discovered that his parents' disappearance has something to do with a religious calling, but that they were in Mandir roughly two years ago.   All of a sudden, a great tremor shoot the great tree city, and as the tremors grew closer and stronger, smaller trees could be seen and heard snapping and crashing to the forest floor. An alarm bell sounded, and the Mandirians quickly shut down their shops, locked things down, and retired indoors. Pansy explained to Wiinken that the alarm sounds when the Trees' Teeth are called to defend the city; Horxim discovers that it's rhino beetle mating season, and that rival bulls have been a nuisance for the city the last few weeks.   Terrified of the possibility of being knocked from the tree, both Wiinken and Horxim fled for the lift, only to be blocked by a swarm of Trees' Teeth rushing to the city's defense. Calico Jack had spied the rhino beetles from his inn-room window and came out to assist in any way possible, while Zenora also made her way back towards the inn, afraid of being left behind in any potentially ensuing chaos.   The Trees' Teeth have intercepted the party and are asking them to either lend aid or move indoors with the other civilians.
