Pewter Blossom
Reaching up from the dirt, only the size of a small bush, is an outstretched fern of silvery metal. Its thin, delicate, composition is almost beautiful if not for the circle of fallow land at its base, roughly a foot in radius, where not even a blade of grass will grow.
Recently discovered to be the result of a resin leak from the Derelict Ark's injection printer. Material has bled into the surrounding soil over centuries and dissolved into the groundwater. The material crystallizes upon reaching the surface.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Thin, delicate leaves of silver, iron, and trace unknown elements. No known root system, seem to grow from metal bulbs which can be transplanted but only grow near Weft.
Growth Rate & Stages
It is unknown how a blossom bulb forms as a bulb will form underground in a random point of exposed soil. From the bulb, roots will stretch down and a thin single silver leaf will reach up from the soil. After 2 weeks, the single silver leaf will split into 3 smaller leaves. This process will continue as long as it is left uncut, each new leaf splitting into 3 smaller leaves every 2 weeks.
Ecology and Habitats
Pewter blossoms seem incapable of growing in any soil save for a mile radius circle around Weft.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Pewter Blossoms require damp soil and only grow in soil near Weft.
Biological Cycle
The base of a blossom is a fist-sized bulb with roots which stretch down into the soil. As long as the bulb is undamaged, the blossom will grow as long as it is planted in soil nearby Weft.
