Plague / Epidemic
As human society progressed, the increase in population and urbanization led to new challenges. One of the most significant of these challenges was the emergence of new diseases and the outbreak of plagues.
Mayor symptoms of the The Black Decay were horrifying and included fever, vomiting and black discoloration of the skin which would then start to peal of. The mortality rate was extremely high, and entire towns and cities were decimated. The density of humans and animals, combined with poor sanitation and living conditions, allowed for the plague to spread rapidly. In some cases, the disease spread so fast that there were not enough people left to bury the dead. No real understanding of how disease worked helped spread the plague to other areas, as people that had yet to develop symptoms tried to flee, but unknowingly brought the plague with them. The impact of the plague on society was enormous. The loss of life was staggering, and the survivors turned to the gods for salvation. Priests gathered crowds to the temples, but this only lead to even faster spreading of the disease, and of course people noticed that not even priests where spared. Previous event
