Session 5

Thankful for their help, the apiarist put our heroes up for the night to rest. Early in the morning they set out towards the The Little Lamplight Inn rested and refreshed. They stumbled upon an ancient section of a great crumbling wall, earthen and rubble mounds for the most part. Percival ivestigated the remnants of an old gatehouse along the road finding the wall was once part of the defences of the The Cinnetilthe Empire. Moving past the wall they had no other interuptions until they reached the small Hamlet of Little Lamplight.  Entering the small and cramped inn the party found the patrons and owner ruminating silently almost in a daze. As soon as they mentioned the missing girl they were looking for though, everyone lit up and became very annimated seemingly ellated that someone ANYONE was looking into the diapearance of Mathilda. Percival went upstairs to talk to the mother and it was revealed that the mother had at some point in the past begged the forest for help in curing her ailing daughter; and the forest answered by sending a mysterious woman to cure their daughter. But the mysterious figure stated they would return for payment in the future, but did  not say what they wanted. With this the mother also gave Percival a small idol she used to pray to.  The inn owner sent the party into the forest alongside Duke a local hunter who had seen the girl some days earlier. They first stopped at the Watchmans fort and were given some supplies, then almost immediatly were led off the main road into the deep and dark forest.  A couple hours of travel later, Duke realized that suddenly they were lost, the magical compass did the show the way they came from but it seemed unfamiliar. Finding themseles in an open grove the party was approched by a small herd of docile deer. Once close the deer pounced on Duke and the illusion concealing their true forms was cast off! Their true form three hulking undead dire wolves. After a ferocious fight, the party was moked on high by a witch in a large mortar and pessle who tossed them a childs shoe laced with blond hair. They are getting closer....
