The Bluefoot Hill Expedition.
General Summary
After making their preparations the party met the rest of the expedition at The Seelie Retreat, before heading into the hills. Entering the mountain through a cave, they battled various monstrous creatures while also discovering Sylvan writing and a large quantity of
ebral, before descending further into the labyrinth proper. The expedition split into two groups, each following a different path into the labyrinth. They found that the doors of each room act as portals to other unconnected rooms, making it difficult to map a route.
While one group found a room of mirrors showing different scenes, the other encountered
Crystalline. Two of the group, Buckstone and Swanson, were killed in a room of moving vines, despite attempts to save them after the split party reunited.
Further puzzles, including bubbles of wild magic which were more entertaining for some than others, were passed before the expedition finally found their way to a control room where they were able to turn off the portal magic on the doors and travel through the labyrinth without issue.
After following a tunnel further underground, they emerged in a huge cavern housing
Verdant. Though she initially attempted to drown them, once they reached her island Lizzie managed to convince her to help, especially after noting that he could somehow understand the ancient language she had been singing in. She granted them passage to Yula treasury in exchange for them bringing back a gem which would free Crystalline from her room.
Narrowly avoiding death by golem, the expedition returned with both the gem and several magical items. After freeing Crystalline, they returned to Morsa. Before parting ways with the rest of the expedition, Murray revealed that she had been hired by
Lady San to ensure Lizzie never made it out, but had ultimately gained more money from Yula’s treasury than Lady San had offered so had not considered it worth her while.
