Yuuto

Yuuto Inoue

Yuuto is a five-tailed inariin known for his loyalty, strong morals, and quiet strength. Raised by his mother on the outskirts of a forest, he grew up with a simple but deeply honorable life. His mother instilled in him the importance of protecting family and their dwindling kind. He is extremely close with both her and his younger brother, whom he travels with and fiercely protects—though most outsiders mistake the boy for a mere fox companion.   Yuuto is warm-hearted, trusting, and genuinely wants to see the good in people, which makes him dangerously gullible at times. Despite his soft, approachable nature, he carries an unwavering core of honor. Betray his trust or threaten his family, and you’ll find out how deep his strength runs. He longs for the day he can build a true home where his family can live safely together again, away from a world that does not always understand or accept them.   Yuuto carries the scent of pine and fresh earth, wears simple traveler’s clothing stitched with loving detail, and walks with the steady, natural grace of someone born to the wilds. His heart belongs to his family first and always.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Yuuto is in excellent physical condition, maintained through a lifetime of travel, combat, and outdoor survival. His build is lean and athletic, favoring speed, stamina, and agility over raw strength. He has the hardened body of a man used to long marches, harsh environments, and sudden fights. His reflexes are sharp, and he moves with an effortless grace born of both training and natural instinct.   His endurance is notable. He can go long periods without rest or luxury, pushing himself farther than most humans without complaint. Minor injuries and fatigue are treated as inconveniences rather than obstacles. However, years of wandering have left him with small, persistent scars across his body — reminders of fights, accidents, and the simple wear and tear of an untamed life.   Though he does not appear bulky, Yuuto is deceptively strong, especially when it comes to practical tasks like climbing, hauling gear, or grappling. His strength is built for survival, not show. He takes care of his body because it is the first and last weapon he can always rely on.

Special abilities

As a five-tailed Inariin, Yuuto possesses natural magical abilities tied to spirit and nature. His most developed skills center around illusion, subtle influence, and minor elemental manipulation. He can weave simple illusions to mask appearances, hide small objects, or create fleeting images and sounds to mislead or distract. His magic is instinctive rather than academic, shaped by necessity and survival rather than formal study.   Beyond illusion, Yuuto has an enhanced bond with the natural world. He can sense disturbances in the environment, track hidden creatures, and survive in the wilds with uncanny ease. His connection to spirit energy gives him minor healing capabilities, allowing him to mend small wounds or purge simple poisons over time, though he cannot perform major feats of restoration.   Physically, Yuuto benefits from the natural gifts of the Inariin. His reflexes, balance, and stamina are far beyond that of an ordinary human. He can move swiftly across rough terrain, slip through dense forests without leaving a trace, and strike with surprising speed in battle. His five tails are not just symbolic; they enhance his magical strength, sharpen his instincts, and mark him as a being of rare power among his kind.

Personal history

Yuuto Inoue was born on Velnir 17, 372 HE, in a quiet glade at the edge of one of Tanaria’s ancient forests. His mother, a proud Inariin, raised him and his younger brother Shou alone. Their father was absent, not through tragedy or death, but by choice. It was an old story of drifting hearts and different paths, one Yuuto never fully questioned or resented.   His early years were simple but full. He spent his childhood learning to live by old traditions, hunting the woods, and quietly trading with distant human settlements. His mother taught him the importance of family, duty, and honor. She warned him that the Inariin were few in number, and that it was their responsibility to protect one another and preserve their fading legacy.   As Yuuto grew, the forest no longer felt wide enough. He loved his family fiercely, but the call of the wider world stirred inside him. He did not want to survive by hiding. He wanted to build something better, something lasting. That restlessness shaped him as much as his loyalty did.   When Shou was born, Yuuto found a new sense of purpose. His little brother, still young by Inariin standards, remained in fox form and could not yet shift. Most humans mistake Shou for a pet, and Yuuto lets them believe it to keep him safe. Together, they began to travel farther from home. Yuuto found work where he could, taking guard jobs, courier runs, and occasionally hunting bounties. He never stayed anywhere too long.   Now at 130 years old, Yuuto has earned five tails, a mark of his experience and spirit. He travels Tanaria with Shou, chasing a future where the Inariin can live openly, not in the shadows. Though he still visits his mother when he can, each visit feels a little shorter. A part of him knows his true path leads beyond the forests he once called home.

Intellectual Characteristics

Yuuto is a practical, hands-on learner. He understands the world by living in it, not by sitting through lessons or studying dusty old texts. He prefers to learn through real-world experience, through trial, error, and adaptation. Concepts taught without action often slip past him, but anything tied to movement, duty, or survival roots itself deep.   When faced with problems, Yuuto is patient and methodical. He does not rush into decisions without cause. Instead, he observes, measures his options, and chooses the most direct but honorable path. His solutions are often simple and effective, though he is not always the most cunning or strategic mind in the room. He values doing what is right over what is easy, even if it costs him.   His memory is strong, especially when emotions or important duties are tied to the event. He remembers faces, promises, betrayals, and kindnesses with near-perfect clarity. However, he places less importance on memorizing facts, dates, or academic trivia unless they are directly relevant to his journey.   Yuuto speaks Common fluently and knows the flowing dialect of the Inariin with pride. He can read and write at a basic but functional level. While he is no scholar, he communicates clearly and respectfully, often speaking simply rather than dressing his words in unnecessary complexity. In conversation, he listens more than he speaks, weighing the words of others before offering his own.   Academically, Yuuto's knowledge is grounded in what he needs: survival skills, weather patterns, geography, cultural traditions, and bits of magic relevant to his life. He has little use for scholarly pursuits beyond that. If a thing does not serve a practical or moral purpose, he lets it pass by without regret.   Where Yuuto truly excels is in emotional intelligence. He reads people naturally, sensing emotions and tensions even when they are not spoken aloud. His instincts are usually good, although his willingness to trust sometimes blinds him to warning signs. He believes in the goodness of people until he is given hard reason not to.   At his core, Yuuto believes that knowledge should serve action. Philosophy, law, history — they are only valuable if they lead to living with honor and protecting what matters. Knowledge for its own sake means little to him. Wisdom, in his mind, is measured by what you do with it.

Social

Family Ties

Yuuto’s family ties are the foundation of his identity. His bond with his mother is one of deep respect and quiet devotion. She raised him alone, teaching him the old ways of the Inariin and impressing upon him the importance of loyalty, honor, and protecting their dwindling people. Though he now spends much of his time traveling, he carries her lessons with him in everything he does, and visiting her whenever possible remains a personal vow he refuses to break.
His relationship with his younger brother, Shou, is even more immediate and protective. Shou, still young by Inariin standards and unable to assume a human form, travels with Yuuto as both companion and responsibility. Most outsiders believe Shou to be nothing more than an exotic pet, a misunderstanding Yuuto allows for Shou’s safety. In truth, Yuuto treats him with deep care and patience, seeing Shou not as a burden but as a precious reminder of why he fights and endures.   Beyond his mother and brother, Yuuto has few known family connections. He has no relationship with his absent father, a shadow figure whose departure left no bitterness, only absence. Among other Inariin, Yuuto regards all of his kind as extended family, bound by a shared heritage that demands both loyalty and protection.

Speech

Yuuto speaks in a calm, even tone, choosing his words carefully without sounding slow or uncertain. His voice is smooth and steady, carrying the quiet confidence of someone who does not waste breath on things he does not mean. He rarely raises his voice, even in anger, preferring to let his presence carry weight instead of volume. His Common is clear and direct, without heavy accent, though his speech tends to be slightly formal, a habit from his mother’s teachings. When speaking Inariin, his tone softens noticeably, carrying a warmth and intimacy rarely seen in his public manner. He rarely uses slang, and while he can understand humor and sarcasm, he delivers it in a dry, understated way. In tense situations, Yuuto’s speech becomes even more measured, almost cold, betraying the deep sense of control he maintains even under pressure.
