Nemur

Nemur is the fifth moon of Marduk. It is constantly pulled by both Marduk and the other nearby moons. Due to this tidal flexing, Nemur is the most volcanically active place in the solar system. The ejecta from its chronic eruptions interact with Marduk's powerful magnetic field to create an extremely powerful torus of radiation along the moon's orbit. As a result, Nemur is battered by lethally high levels of radiation. This, in addition to the seas of molten lava, have made it an extremely inhospitable place for most life forms.   The native life, the so called Unnuak, are the mutated descendants of a crashed prison ship. These mutants have built an assortment of citadels, fortresses, and other installations on Nemur. Only the capital, Dis, has radiation shielding, and this is limited to the neighborhood adjoining the spaceport. Visitors to the planet will most likely need their own radiation shielding should they wish to travel beyond the vicinity of Dis Spaceport.
