Personal history

Klarg was born to the Modra Kuze tribe of Goblins that inhabited the Tor'elva Mountain Range. Naturally very strong, by the year 845 YD, Klarg found himself the leader of the tribe. Poor at decision making, he would often come into conflict with the tribe's elder, Droopl. In the Winter of 845 YD, the adventurers Chad Embergaze and Boblin the Goblin came into contact with the Modra Kuze tribe, looking for the blue dragon statue-key to Wave Echo Cave. This statue was actually the item designating the ruler of the tribe. The pair made an arrangement with Droopl that in exchange for them disposing of Klarg, they could have the statue. The pair battled Klarg and members of the Modra Kuze tribe, the Bugbear eventually surrendering. Amused, however, by the simple nature of Klarg, they enlist Klarg to join them on their travels. It was on their journey toward Tycheron that the trio was beset upon by a roving band of Gnolls, which claimed the life of Klarg. Chad and Boblin buried Klarg in the hills between Phandalin and Tycheron.

Years passed by, and the necromantic energies suffused into the Asmark region by the Ashlands restored Klarg to life. He wandered around, eventually finding his way to the last place he was trying to get to: Tycheron. He picked up the odd job here and there using his tremendous strength. It was through these jobs that eventually caught the eye of Mask, the Guildmaster of the Thieves Guild. Mask would begin giving Klarg jobs anonymously through letters posted to his door. Eventually, Klarg would receive an invitation from Mask to join the Thieves Guild, but like all the other members, they would need to pass a test. That test came the next day, on the 5th of Solmanord, 25 YH.
For a more complete recounting of Klarg's adventures with the Thieves Guild, read the WorldAnvil page 'The Thieves Guild'.

After the departure of Mask from the Thieves Guild, Klarg, Lucatille, Morty, and Therai were left as its collective leaders. The next years saw the members of the Thieves Guild return to other affairs, Klarg stuck around Ashguard, especially Tycheron and Phandalin. He used his newly found relationship with Regent Yorick Voldren to advocate for the rights of Goblin-kin. This came with some resistance, but as the years passed from the retreat of the Black Hand, people's disposition towards Goblins slowly became more tolerable. After years of service in this goal, in 30 YH, as one of his last decrees, Klarg was named by Regent Voldren: Minister of Goblin Relations, and made an official member of the House of Regents, granting him the title of Lord Klarg. In this calling, Klarg served dutifully, advancing the position of Goblinkin within Ashguard, particularly Phandalin and Tycheron.
After serving as Minister of Goblin Relations for 8 years, Klarg finally passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, including Regents Yorick and Senua Voldren, on the 8th of Gormanord, 38 YH, at the age of 58. Klarg was buried in the Waywent Shrine and Mortuary in Tycheron, home of the Thieves Guild. He is remembered and honored in Phandalin by Goblinkin to this day, they even erecting a statue of him to honor his memory and great service in the House of Regents.
