Personal history
Born in 598 YD, Gulmun Strakeln was an unassuming dwarf growing up in Authiaire, itself known as unassuming a dwarven city if there ever were one. The story of his life is one of overcoming, both himself and the world around him. His story on the path to becoming a hero though, begins at the death of his wife, Godelyn. After she died, Gulmun became a drunk, who one day fell from his layer of Authiaire to the bottom, where he discovered and was rescued by Authiaire's new point of worship, Saorsa'bhao the Strife Emperor, who was posing as the Lawbearer. This "Lawbearer" taught Gulmun his first knowings of magic. Gulmun would then set out from Authiaire on a journey of self discovery, leaving his son Dusag at home, expecting him to manage the upkeep of their home. It was on this journey that Gulmun met up with the first group of adventurers that would come to be known as the Seekers of the Golden Grain. For a more complete account of Gulmun and his adventures with the Seekers, please read The Full & Extended History of the Seekers of the Golden Grain, by Dreezus Kodak the Faun.
After these adventures, Gulmun continued to fight the remnants of Tiamat's Empire alongside fellow Seekers, Bright Star, Cyran, and Leo. At the same time Gulmun would begin committing himself to learning how to cook, and would overtime release cookbooks based on his learnings and creations. Gulmun would go on to found Strakeln's School of the Arcane Arts in Authiaire, as well as a second school in Tycheron, Chosen City of the Lawbearer. After enough time fighting such powerful foes such as the Vassal-Governors, Gulmun became one of few mages powerful enough to cast 10th level spells.
