Banshee
Since time immemorial, the Fae Realm has been the place of origin for many strange beings, both wonderous and terrible, and few of them have been as haunting as the Banshees. Drawn towards places of impending loss, these spirits of mourning are seen as omens of ill tidings by all those who recieve a visit from these otherworldly mourners.

Anatomy
Banshees resemble women of varying ages (typically either young or old), with long hair and slightly pointed ears.
Ecology and Habitats
Banshees can be found anywhere where mortals have settled.
Behaviour
Banshees are drawn towards places of impending loss. When they manifest in the Mortal Realm, the Banshee will gravitate towards the nearest settled area (typically no larger than a village) that will experience a death in the community, and upon reaching their intended destination, will begin loudly weeping for a length of time. If approached, the Banshee will always state that a specific individual in the community will die in the near future, though they appear to not know the exact time of their impending death (typical answers include "before the month is out" to "soon"). Interestingly, some Banshees have tied themselves to specific family bloodlines, acting as a sort of guardian to them.

Banshees typically appear in the western lands of Myrell bordering The Elderwood.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Banshees have perception capabilities similar to a Mortal, though they have an uncanny ability to sense when someone is nearing death.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Due to both their nature as Fae beings, as well as their connection to death, Banshees are often regarded with fear and wariness by most mortals. Those who've attached themselves to a family line, however, are well regarded by their chosen family, who see them as guardian spirits.
