Forest of Nightmares
History
The Forest of Nightmares was grown from Grove seeds stolen from the fae during the War of Fire. Its magic was shaped to bring nightmares and fear to all fae and trolls who set foot beneath its canopy. After the War ended and the Empire retreated across the Barrier, Kadia, who had joined herself with the energy of the forest, remained to keep watch over the Keep.Appearance
The forest is a great expanse of deciduous trees between Ipth and Lone Mountain Keep. Ancient Imperial roads and waystations can be found in ruins throughout and surrounding the forest. Tall, old-growth trees are occasionally wrapped in thorny vines with rich purple blossoms. At the centre of the forest are four enormous dark trees with purple leaves. These trees are the source of the wide-area magic overlaying the forest itself.
