Alphie has very little sense of diplomacy, using lies and deception often to try to get things done, even where there are other more honorable ways. As the mayor this means he is not respected at all, and this drives him crazy. nearly all of his policies are a flop, and the ones that have works were shamelessly stole from somewhere else.
Mental Trauma
Alphie was lost in the forest for a month and a half as a child. He was disobediently swimming during a slight flood and got washed downstream. He learned very good survival skills and made his own way back up to Wood Cross. He considers this a major feat (and it was) and it is his justification that he should be considered with high honor.

Alphie will do just about anything to stay in power.

He uses money wants, so it is greedy. He also relishes in his position as major, since no one would respect him if he didn't have the title.

He is fairly inept at everything, and is mayor only because no one else really wanted the position.

Alphie loves women, but they don't love him (although his money helps). he is very fond of money and the finer things in life because of the way it makes people see him (more important than he is)

He is malleable in social interactions, he can make someone feel as if he is their best buddy, while secretly hating their guts. He is the definition of a "poser". He also knows when to lie, and who to lie to. It is hard to pin him down, as he never lies around witnesses.

He gets very angry if his incompetence is called out. he like women, but is not respectful at all to the opposite sex. He adds and drops friends as he needs to further his causes.

He has the best money can buy in Wood Cross, but he is not good at fashion or maintenance. he is shaggy and unkempt, but always smells of the best perfumes. His clothing is wealthy, but he wears only earth tones because he was called out long ago for his horrible color sense.
