The outcome of the Rending

When the Savior Gods ended the Rending, the Souls of Tacillia put the planet on a new path, hurtling around Absence and Abundance. However, the Souls were weak or just couldn’t decide what path Tacillia should take, and from time to time, Tacillia is getting very close to either Absence or Abundance. These two entities have such vast powers that when they are near, even the Savior Gods can’t protect Tacillia and its inhabitants completely. Some pathseekers dedicate their life to predicting the coming of these occasions, but in vain. While most of the time the people of Tacillia live their lives in a fragile harmony, there are times when they face similar events that preceded the Rending.

The Law of Flourishing

Abundance sets it off. It causes rapid biological growth or mutation, psionic interference or bloom (often among the weak or receptive who can’t protect themselves), irrational fervor, uncontrolled reproduction, or vegetation overrunning established boundaries overnight. It is a surge of growth both metaphorically and physically. There are a couple of mitigating factors that can lessen the effect of Abundance, but these are sporadic and specific to one issue. Like the dimming net used by the valturo and calamor to prevent over-reproduction of the bloom. Of the two laws, this one is the one that can be weathered more easily. People everywhere might need to use their wits and cunning to prevent overgrowth, but it is an easier task than avoiding destruction.

The Law of Withering

The decay that is caused by Absence. Its signs are forgetfulness on a personal or even on a cultural scale, diminished birth rates, loss of emotion, destruction of agricultural and natural resources, or nature itself, and dreams of void and silence. It is much harder to combat this than the Flourishing. The people need to prepare in advance just to survive these taxing times. The only things that can help during these periods are the solidarity and togetherness of communities and families, festivals that give warmth and encourage the people, and praying to the Savior Gods, and in some cultures to their Elders.
These pathseekers are useless. We need much better predictions to protect our subjects
