Order of the Falling Leaf

Where is the order located?

The order is one of those religious groups that has its center within The Root. First of all, because The Root is the spiritual center of the valturo. And second, because The Root is the religious center, it receives numerous donations and gifts from all members of the valturo society.
The order also has most of its members located in The Root. However, there are order members at every bigger nest to distribute the donations as efficiently as possible.

The calling or the order

The order’s central tenet is that as the Divine Scavenger shares its body with the valturo, they need to share what they can with those in need, especially those living in arctic and tropical regions, where life is more challenging than in temperate regions. Therefore, the disciples of the order, who call themselves leaves, are responsible for spreading all the excess gifts The Root receives.
Their main tasks are to sort the donations, so that everybody gets what they need, you don’t need coats in the tropics, and they are responsible for transporting all these gifts to the nests that need them. Transporting everything is a tedious task that takes a considerable amount of time. Especially to move everything to the arctic, because The Root is located south of the equator. It is a long journey, and it is usually taken only once a year. Most of the donations are transported via vangola caravans, but the leaves themselves carry some to the closest nests.
When the donations arrive at a nest, the fun part begins. Distributing the gifts. This is done in a peculiar way. It may have been influenced by the Divine Scavenger; perhaps it is easier this way for a valturo. But what they do is fly all over the nest and scatter the donations all over the place. Every valturo knows not to hog many of the gifts because their neighbours need them too. But over the years, it became a playful tradition among the valturo chicks that they try to catch as many as they can while flying. It is partly a fun game among them, but it is also a great way to practice their flight skills.
It is a lovely tradition. Many other religions and rulers should learn it from the valturo
