Divine Scavenger

The origin of the legend

According to the legend of the Divine Scavenger, before he became the valturo’s spiritual leader, he was a valturo, like all of them, and his name was Morrik. However, after the great migration, the valturo leaders tried to find his next of kin so that they could honor both him and his family, but they didn’t find anybody. Of course, they could have died in the Feather and Mandible war, or during the great migration between the Eyrie and the Cutter, or forgo flying all the way to the Cutter and become skyless, but even years of searching for his relatives turned up nothing. As a consequence of this fruitless search, the valturo started the whisper that he was the Divine Scavenger from the start. He just altered his body to look like a valturo.

The truth behind the legend

There was a valturo called Morrik who lived in the Eyrie, but nobody used this name before or after, although it sounds like a regular valturo name. It is also a fact that he appeared during the Feather and Mandible war, and started to convince the valturo that they should stop the war and leave their current home to find a new one. He regularly left them to find this new home and flew all over the known and unknown places of Tacillia. At least that’s what he told the valturo. Who knows where he flew on those occasions? It is also true that as time progressed, he started to change. His body started to grow, and he began to look like a rotting corpse. His explanation for this change was that he flew above a place where the protection of the Savior Gods wasn’t complete, and the power of Absence affected him. But what if he just started to change back to his godly form?

The living legend

Was he a valturo in the first phase of his life, or was he a godly being when he first appeared among the valturo? Probably the truth will never come out. The truth is that he became the cornerstone of the valturo religion. All their ceremonies are imbued with love and faith, the valturo feel towards him. But this is natural, because from time to time, the Divine Scavenger still flies over their heads to strengthen their conviction in him.
Yes, our new gods live among us. They are not as distant as the previous ones were
