There aren’t a lot of things that can live within the home of the valturo, the Cutter. Especially those that can bring a little sweetness into the lives of the valturo. One of these few things is the fruit trees. They can live only in the lower parts of the Cutter. Although not in significant numbers.

That’s why it brought a massive change into the everyday lives of the valturo, when a valturo dealer brought the first cupcake recipe from a kobold baker. It was an instant success, and the recipe spread with a terrifying speed among the valturo nests. Nowadays, all forms of the cupcake are a staple of valturo life.

Although it is small in size, the demand for the cupcake is so high and fruits are so scarce that the valturo bakers are expending on the original recipe and are creating many different versions of it.

Of course, the most sought-after version is the one that is created with some fruit. Any fruit. Let it be the usual apple and pear versions, or the peculiar ones made with small fruits like blackberry, blueberry, or anything the valturo can get their hands on. The second most widespread version that is made with fish or anything the valturo can catch in the ocean. Although this one is not sweet, it lasts for a very long time. It is ideal for long travels, because it is easy to eat a cupcake or two, even during a flight. One special version is made with dried fruit. However, it is an expensive cupcake because of the lack of fruit the valturo have, so mostly dried fruit is brought to the Cutter by dealers from Gibora or Muaclun.

There are two versions of the cupcake that are made very rarely. One is made with alcohol. These are only consumed on special occasions. That’s because the body of the valturo can’t handle alcohol, and none of the valturo parents dare to create this one at home to have a chick accidentally eat them. The other, even rarer version is made with the body of the Divine Scavenger. These cupcakes are reserved for consumption during religious ceremonies only.
