Two-piece Scaly bottoms

The scaly societarians of Karte Island are distinctive on their clothing, more tight-fitting than those used by other scaly peoples and adorned with many ribbons and curious metallic adornments.
Their most unusual clothing item is their classic leg and tail coverage, which was developed to easily support their wide tails without leaving a large hole at the back of their leg garment as with the Ruhk skirts.

Tail piece

The tail coverage consists on a tight-fitting tube made of two pieces sewn together midway. The part that is not sewn together has the bottom half left as a single long rectangle with clamps, hooks or similar devices on the tip, while the top half is divided halfway through the middle, with a dart (or several) on each side to make the ribbons point to the sides.
The piece is fit trough the tip of the tail with the tube side pointing to the tip. The bottom rectangle is passed through the crotch, while the two ribbons at the top are fitted around the hips. The three tips are then fastened to the shield piece, which in some pieces is permanently attached in place to the bottom part.

Leggings

Sidrar
The leg piece has similarity to some of the trousers used by the Thaurian, but are fit much tighter and in most cases lack the crotch section entirely, being instead fastened to the top of the tail with the use of ribbons.
In most cases, the leggings have an opening for the calves for better mobility.
Earthy tones, such as browns and oranges are the most common for the tail pieces and leggings, often made with plain fabrics.

The shield

The lower belly and crotch area are traditionally covered by this decorative piece, usually made of metal but also found in thick leather or wood in cheaper outfits. The "shield" is curved outwards and often padded inside, and hides behind or at the sides the loops, hooks or tabs used to fasten the tail pieces.
Many Kartians decorate their shields with personal symbols, colours or icons of their family or trade, often with themes of nature.
