Personal history
Edus was fascinated by stories of magic and wonder as a child. He wanted to know all about them, but his faith and dedication to the church turned this fascination into a relentless fervor. Edus joined a group who hunted down and exterminated anything considered unnatural, especially anything to do with magic. He continued this when he moved with some members of his group to America.
When they landed they ignored the trapping of society and headed straight into the wilderness. They immediately searched and found the natives, they studied them. They waited until they showed their hands and then cut them off. They were trained to target magic users and dispatched them and brutalizes their tribes. They found they were hiding a secret, and killed more tribes to reveal the whole truth. The natives had a key to immortality, and Edus kept this for himself killing his group and any witnesses. He's used other stolen secrets over the years to aid his power and knowledge, while helping causes he believes to be righteous
