Personal history
Shane Shade comes from Hawaii, but doesn't remember much of it. When he was only 2 two years old a serial killer came to the island. Unfortunately his family became a target, to make matters worse the killer had superpowers. He family tried to fight but they weren't a match for him. All of them dying in the process except for his grandfather who hid him while the other were fighting. His grandfather was nearly killed but survived when the police arrived. His grandfather ended up in a coma and Shane was adopted.
He grew up as Shane Masters in Vermont and was primarily focused on playing baseball and going to college. Until he was contacted by grandfather and he rediscovered everything that happened to his family. He even started remembering small things about his birth family that made him happy. But then he eventually remembered everything, the loud noises and screams and his grandfather running away to hide him.
So he set out to find the man who did it. But knew he couldn't do it by himself he needed to find some kind of an edge. He started looking into local legends and folklore from around the world. He didn't find anything until he was sent information into a few places scattered around the world. So he spent his time traveling around the world learning magic from masters, studying rune-craft and training in martial techniques. When he returned and started tracking murderers, powered, magical or otherwise. He realized he couldn't allow so many other families to go through what he did. So what he became a hero, while still looking for the man who murdered his family.
