Liam has always been incredibly bright, far surpassing his peers. He took an interest in science because he never found math interesting enough. He was invited after his finished college to work in the united states. He found a great job in a lab that gave freedom, and great pay. He spent his life working on the mysteries of the human body, barely taking time out to actually enjoy it. When he retired he took a teaching job at a college.

He was beloved by his students, he was nice, knowledgable, accommodating and a bit quirky. The girls in his classes always joked with him, and he was professional about it but he enjoyed it. They quoted his book "The Authority of Youth" back to him whenever they felt like he could be playfully persuaded on passing grade. He liked it a lot more than he let on, it reminded him of his youth, or his waste of it. He dedicated it to science but never really loved, or had many friends. The girls in his class reminded of that, his mind drifted constantly to them. Of what it would be like to be young again, to be young with them. He started watching them more on his personal time, being interested more than he should. He'd get jealous seeing them with guys, eventually getting angry enough to confront them. He was fired and disgraced after that, ruining his reputation for a misguided hope.

He always playfully looked for an answer to aging during his career, but now it was his only goal. He spent all his money and time on it. He paid a a lot of money and completed some unethical experiments to get a chance at his golden grail. Michael the Everlasting, a rumor who turned out to be true, the man who de and re-aged repeatedly. He took as much DNA as possible, and worked on himself. Overestimating the power of the genetic material he de-aged back to the state of a baby. But kept his brain intact.

Liam's prime motivation was to have a restart at life. In a way he has achieved that, but with his reputation shattered he can no longer work in the field he dedicated his life to. His newfound level of intelligence however, has given him options and opportunities he hadn't thought of before.
