Orc

During the early days of the war between the Demons and the Gladrion Empire, it was decided that to win the war a powerful yet expendable shocktroop unit would be needed. A clever Devil found a tribe of Humans that were angered with the Empire and resisted their rule. The Devil promised them that with a bit of its blood, he could make them into the most powerful warriors amongst mortals. They eagerly took the offer and were changed into Orcs. When the Fiends were driven from the Mortal plane, the Orcs remained and sought to find a place in the world. Every Orc feels the infernal fire that runs through their veins that compels them to rage and commit violence, which they call the Taint or the Darkflame. Some resist and some give in to it. Those who resist are called Red Flames or Bronze Flames, and recongize their struggle and refer to it as the Crucible. Those who give in are White Flames or Iron Flames, and sometimes they collectively refer to themselves that embrace the Darkfire as the White Inferno. All things equal Orcs are a match for any other race in Selanden, they are nearly are tougher than Dwarves, as adaptable as Humans, and have the speed of Elves and can see in the dark. Orcs are not recongized in the cosmology of the Divine Hand, and few have ever converted or have dealing to the Divine Hand. Orcs usually live a little less than Humans, from 50-75 years.

Playing an Orc

Orcs are a race shadowed by the Darkflame, a demonic influence that fuels their inherent aggression. They tend to be proud and independent, often seeking self-made communities over mixed settlements. An Orc against type might be humble and tranquil, grappling less with the Darkflame, and more with introspective thoughts and peaceful pursuits.   Orc of Selanden (Orc Variant) Creature Type You are a Humanoid.
