Elf

Elves have a complicated history on Selanden. There were once the Three Realms, Sirdun, Valeria, and Lonnetar, that were kingdoms of the Elves, guided by Lords and Ladies of the Green. All have since fallen at the hands of other nations. There was massive resentment towards the High Elves of the Gladrion Empire, and though the the Three Realms had nothing to do with Gladrion and actively opposed them, they eventually were seen as the enemy, especially considering the Elves association with the arcane. Some Humans found many excuses to sow discord against the Elves from cultural traditions to subtle physilogical difference such as the pointed ears and having their hearts on the wrong side, indicating that they were eavesdroppers and spies or had deceitful hearts and could not be trusted.   Since of fall of the Three Realms, cooler heads have prevailed and some of the ancient bigotry has eroded. There are some Elves that hold onto resentment about their treatment however. Others have formed a social and political movement callled Sir’Va’Lonn, which is a return to the ancient Elven ways. Sirdun was located north-east of Trenado and some of the Elves found themselves in Trenado and other areas nearby. In the Divine Hand cosmology, Elves are associated with the element of Wood. They live traditionally between 400-500 years.

Playing an Elf

Ancient and enduring, Elves bear witness to the ebb and flow of time. They often adopt a detached perspective, appreciating the grander cycles of life and dismissing ephemeral tragedies. Many are now reclaiming their heritage after losing their ancestral homes and traditional ways of life. Yet, a contrary Elf might be enraptured by life's fleeting moments, abandoning some restrictive aspects of Elven culture. They may seek involvement in the affairs of younger races, or even embrace parenthood more frequently, challenging the low birth rates typical of their kind.
